WHIreland Wealth Management sponsors Manx nurse in Island Games bid

WHIreland Wealth Management in the Isle of Man is supporting Manx cyclist Emily Looker in her bid to win a medal at this year’s Island Games in Gotland, Sweden.

Emily, who lives in Douglas and works for the Community Health Service after graduating as a nurse in 2015 from the University of Chester, will be representing the Isle of Man in the mountain biking event. She has been cycling for five years and has only recently started to compete, taking part in both mountain and road cycling races.

Despite her relatively new introduction to competitive cycling, Emily achieved a number of excellent results last year including first lady in the Manx 50 race, first novice lady in the Manx Mountain Bike National XC series and second senior lady in the IoM End to End Challenge.

Symon Walmsley, Deputy Head of Group Marketing at WHIreland, said: “We are delighted to help Emily reach her goal of competing at the Island Games and representing the Isle of Man at this level.

“The Island Games are all about bringing Islands together but, by virtue of being Islands, the cost of travel and getting a bike to the Games can be significant. The Isle of Man has a proud record of supporting cycling and helping cyclists progress to the very top of the sport, and we are pleased to help keep this tradition alive. We wish Emily and the rest of the team the very best of luck.”
