Our London office is the Group’s Head Office based in the heart of the City financial district. We provide corporate and institutional broking for public and private growth companies. This includes corporate finance and corporate broking and institutional broking.
Supported by our two Corporate Broking regional offices in Leeds and Bristol, we source finance, make deals, and tell your story to investors. We also provide equity research and investor relations to our London-based clients. To date, we have helped a significant number of growth companies fulfil their goals.

Fraser has had a 26-year career in the UK equity markets, working in sales and corporate broking. His focus has always been on advising and raising funds for UK companies. He started his career with Kleinwort Benson in 1994 before joining Evolution Securities in 2002, at its inception, managing the Equity Sales desk. In 2008, Fraser joined Collins Stewart to run the small-cap franchise and then joined The Royal Bank of Canada in 2009 as part of the rollout of its European Equities platform. Subsequently, Fraser joined Arden Partners in 2017, as Head of Equities and a member of its Senior Management team.
John has worked in the City as an equity research analyst for over 15 years, covering a wide range of businesses and sectors in the growth company space on both AIM and the Main Market. During his career, he has worked for TD Waterhouse, Altium Securities, and WH Ireland. John was appointed Deputy Head of Capital Markets in January 2021.
Emma’s career in the City started on the equity sales desk at SG Securities. Emma has over 15 years’ experience as an equity analyst across the biopharma, pharma services, and med tech sectors, initially at Edison Group covering a range of pan-European mid-cap stocks. More recently she has worked as a consultant, writing on the small to mid-cap space for Equity Development, Proactive Investors and Progressive Research.Emma joined WH Ireland in 2021 as an Analyst.
Chris joined WHIreland in April 2010 after over 20 years advising small and mid-cap companies with BZW, Hoare Govett, and Arden Partners. He has extensive experience in advising companies, both domestic and overseas, in IPOs, secondary fund raisings, public offers, and M&A transactions on both the Official List and AIM.
Melvyn is a hugely experienced Sales Trader having started his career on the Stock Exchange floor. After Big Bang, he worked for BZW and then helped set up Altium Securities. Prior to joining WHIreland at the start of 2017, he also worked at Finncap and Arden Partners.
Richard is a highly experienced market trader who has worked in the city since 1999. He was a sales trader then a market maker at Seymour Pierce after which he ran the small-cap equity book at Fairfax I.S.
Brendan has over 13 years of experience valuing upstream oil & gas companies and has cultivated strong relations with the buy-side. Brendan is a CFA Charter holder and holds an MSc. in Finance from the London School of Economics. He also has a Master’s degree in International Relations from Sciences-Po, Paris, and a Certificate in Petroleum Reservoir Evaluation from Texas A&M University.
Nick has followed the Support Services sector for more than fifteen years at several firms with strong Mid-Cap credentials such as Panmure Gordon, Bridgewell, and Altium. Nick holds a first-class degree from Oxford University.
A chartered accountant, James has advised on a wide range of public and private transactions including IPOs, secondary fundraisings, Code offers, M&A, and private equity. He previously worked at Arthur Andersen and the London Stock Exchange. Prior to joining WH Ireland, he spent 5 years working at venture capital and corporate advisory firm.
Jessica is a Director in the Corporate Finance team based in London. A qualified chartered accountant and CFA charter holder, Jessica has advised on a wide range of public and private transactions including IPOs, secondary fundraisings, Code offers, and private M&A deals. She is a Qualified Executive (Nomad) for AIM purposes.
Jessica qualified as an accountant with Ernst & Young in 2012 where she remained in Transaction Advisory, specialising in valuations and business modelling, until 2014. She then spent three years with Stifel Nicolaus Europe Ltd in corporate finance before joining WHIreland in 2017.
Ben Thorne has been appointed as Managing Director, Corporate Finance in October 2019. Having qualified as a solicitor Ben specialised in corporate law before moving into Investment Banking with Kleinwort Benson where he advised small/midcap corporates on a range of Capital Markets and M&A transactions. Ben has also worked in corporate finance/broking with UK advisers GCA Altium and Panmure Gordon.
Lisa joined WH Ireland from Dabbl Global, the fintech app for retail investors, where she was Global Head of Sales; this followed over 25 years of investment banking and securities experience in London, Hong Kong and Tokyo, building client franchises and developing network and brand partnerships.
Mike has worked in Financial Markets for over 30 years. He started his career as an Institutional Investment Manager and qualifying in an MSc in Investment Analysis from University of Stirling. Then for the next 20 years Mike was a senior equities Stockbroker in European and UK markets. In this period he worked for Deutsche Bank, Bernstein Research and HSBC and was responsible for the running and managing of teams within the firms he represented. For most of this period he was a Managing Director focusing on the Research and Sales offering to the key Institutional clients. In the last five years Mike has worked with Private Corporates advising them on strategy and helping them raise capital.
Aimee manages the Investor Relations department for all of our quoted clients, as well as being involved with equity sales and the WH Ireland Investor Forum. Since joining, Aimee has been involved in a wide range of UK small-cap equity raises and IPOs, covering all sectors. She holds strong relationships with small cap institutions, PCB’s and professional investors. Prior to joining WH Ireland in 2017, Aimee worked at Atlantic Equities LLP.
Alex joined WH Ireland in July 2020 after graduating from University College London with a 2:1 in Natural Sciences, studying Organic Chemistry and Genetics. He has previously interned at Barclays, Mobeus Equity Partners and Blenheim Chalcot.
Susanna joined the WHIreland Corporate Finance team in 2015 and now provides support to the wider division. She has previously worked in wealth management and holds an LLM in Law.
Charlie Cullen is an Associate in the Research team and joined from Deloitte LLP, having qualified as a chartered accountant within tax consulting and accounting where he focused on high growth private businesses and M&A. Charlie previously graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in Natural Sciences.
Darshan joined WH Ireland in August 2019 after more than 4 years, as a Corporate Finance Analyst, advising small and mid-cap companies with Hybridan LLP. He has a demonstrated history of working in the investment banking industry mainly corporate finance advisory, IPOs, introductions, placings, accelerated book builds, block trading and equity-linked instruments.
George joined WH Ireland in March of 2022. He has experience in Equity Sales, Investor Relations and Equity Research, having previously held positions at Numis Securities, Capital Access Group and Axia Ventures. He has worked with a number of corporates on organising roadshows, enhancing the share register and raising capital. George holds an MSc in International Securities, Investment and Banking, from the ICMA Centre at Reading University and a BSc in Financial economics from Bangor University.
