Our Culture

We are proud to support a number of cultural initiatives across the country, as we firmly believe in the benefits of high quality cultural programmes, particularly those which are for the benefit of young people.

At WH Ireland, we want to forge partnerships with organisations that share our beliefs and it is important that we play our part in the communities in which we live and work. We also look to support initiatives internationally that affect issues which are important to us.

If you are involved in a cultural programme and you feel we can help support you, please let us know.

Environmental Causes

We are committed to taking climate action and offsetting some of our carbon emissions, and we do this by planting a tree each time we open a new investment account.

To do this, WH Ireland partners with MoreTrees.Eco who operate tree planting projects in Madagascar, Kenya, and Haiti. One tree offsets an estimated 0.3t of CO2 over its growth life, and provides work, improves crop yield, generates income sources and helps the local economy.

Sponsorship

Our continued support of Buckinghamshire based racing driver Andrew Gordon-Colebrooke has now spanned four full seasons, starting in 2018 with the Ginetta GT4 Supercup and in 2019 progressing on to the prestigious British GT Championship, co-driving the Century Motorsport BMW M4. Andrew scored his first race win at the Silverstone round of the championship in 2020

Charitable Donations

We are proud to support a number of charitable organisations, both in the UK and internationally.

We are delighted to be partnering with Cheetah Conservation Fund UK (CCF UK) in 2021. CCF UK’s mission is to raise awareness and funds to secure a future in the wild for Africa’s most endangered big cat. WH Ireland’s support – via donations and employee engagement – goes directly towards their vital work in Namibia and other cheetah range countries. So far this year we have helped fund projects that aim to combat the illegal wildlife trade, which is pushing cheetahs towards local extinction in the Horn of Africa. Find out more about CCF here.

Fostering Young Talent

In line with our ambition to bring in more motivated young people to the finance industry and support their development, we host work experience days at our London office for young adults aged between 16 and 22. This event gives our young attendees the opportunity to learn more from employees from across the business working in Wealth Management, Wealth Planning, Corporate & Institutional Broking, Compliance, Human Resources and Marketing. Each session gives them the opportunity to ask questions ranging from what qualifications they would need, to what a standard day in these roles entails.

The positive feedback received from the attendees over the years shows that the events are a great success and demonstrate how informative the attendees found the sessions, particularly around inspiring young people to make informed decisions on their future careers in financial services.

We are also proud to be supporting the Young Enterprise UK: Employability Skills for young people, encouraging them to develop skills needed in the workplace and achieve their career goals.
